Studio Exchange!
Studio Exchange presents Christopher Varado-Szali, visited by Meredith Snider.

The CUAG exhibition, Anthony Burnham: Even Space Does Not Repeat (14 November 2011 - 29 January 2012), serves as the inspiration for a collaborative project with the MFA students at the University of Ottawa.
For ‘Studio Exchange,’ CUAG asked the University of Ottawa MFA to explore their own studios for the CUAG Tumblr. Just as Anthony Burnham created a special photo-drawing portfolio of his studio for the new exhibition catalogue, we wanted local artists to pair up and open up their work spaces to each other (and us!) in whatever way they wanted. To unify the blog entries, we have asked each of the MFAs to include an image of one of the tools in their studio, just as Even Space Does Not Exist includes four of Burnham’s unique Plateaux paint palettes.
What can their spaces tell us about the work they create there? How does their surrounding space inform their work? What is their process of art making? We hope that this virtual investigation of self and space will prompt reflection and active inquiry into how those two concepts inform and reflect one another.
